Shanah was born in Japan and studied in England, later completing her B.F.A. at the Tish School of the Arts, New York University.
After a long journey, she found her inspiration in Paris France and pursued her career in French pastry. Upon the completion of two diplomas at École Ritz Escoffier & Ferrandi in Paris, she took an internship at Ritz Hotel Paris and Pâtisseries Groumonde by Stéphane Glacier (M.O.F.).
After many experiments and trials, she decided to devote her pastry skills to create one of a kind chocolate, delightful for both the eyes and palate by supporting small cacao farmers in Central, Latin America, and West Africa.
She believes in the sanctification of honest work and wishes everybody will be touched by His love through her chocolate.
